ACTIVATE YOUTH FC PROGRESS TO NATIONAL FINAL

Activate Youth FC U16 girls football team from Plymouth won the Tesco Cup South West England Regional Final at BAWA Sports Club, Bristol on Sunday 3 May. The girls now advance to the National Final of the Tesco Cup at the Walkers Stadium, Leicester on 17 May.

The team didn't concede a goal during the tournament, winning four of their five matches. Bristol Rovers defender Craig Hinton attended the event and selected Activate footballers for three individual awards in their age category. Lauren Miller was awarded Best Goalkeeper, Becky Jarvis Best Defender and Jodie Martin Best Forward.

The following players won individual awards:

Best Goalkeeper: Lauren Miller (Activate Youth FC)
Best Defender: Becky Jarvis (Activate Youth FC)
Best Midfielder: Cassie Williams (Keynsham FC)
Best Forward: Jodie Martin (Activate Youth FC)
Player of the Tournament: Briony Webb (Weymouth FC)

Craig Hinton said, ‘The Tesco Cup tournament is very positive for the development of football in the UK. It is great to see youngsters enjoying the game and participating in a structured competition. Congratulations to all the teams who have qualified for the English National final and good luck to all the players as the competition progresses.'
