LLANIDLOES PROGRESS TO UK FINAL
Llanidloes from Central Wales won the Tesco Cup Welsh Final on Sunday April 20 in Cardiff. The team will now advance to the UK Final of the Tesco Cup to be held at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton on Sunday May 24. After a tense round robin tournament Llanidloes beat Llanelli Reds 3-2 in what would become the title decider.
Cardiff City Club Captain Darren Purse, who attended the event in Cardiff, chose promising Llanidloes player Nikki Bocking ‘Player of the Tournament'.
Darren Purse also selected the following players to receive awards:
Best Goalkeeper: Maden Pahaenthai-Song (Llanidloes)
Best Defender: Paige Hillie (Mardy Tigers)
Best Midfielder: Bethan Lewis (Llanidloes)
Best Forward: Charmian Martin (Llanelli Reds)
